Every Directory Your NZ Business Should Be Listed On

Google Business is the priority. But it's not the only place people find businesses. Here's every directory that matters in New Zealand.

The Essential Ones

1. Google Business Profile

The most important listing. If you haven't done this yet, stop reading and do it now. I wrote a whole guide on this.

2. Apple Maps (Apple Business Connect)

iPhone users get directions from Apple Maps by default. If you're not listed, they can't find you. Go to business.apple.com to claim your listing.

3. Bing Places

Yes, people still use Bing. More than you think. It's free and takes 10 minutes. Go to bingplaces.com.

NZ-Specific Directories

4. Yellow Pages NZ (yellow.co.nz)

Still gets significant traffic. The free listing is fine — you don't need to pay for premium.

5. NoCowboys (nocowboys.co.nz)

Essential for trades and home services. If you're a builder, plumber, electrician, landscaper — you need to be here.

6. Finda (finda.co.nz)

Another NZ directory with decent traffic. Free listing available.

7. Localist (localist.co.nz)

Good for local discovery. Free to list.

Industry-Specific

  • Hospitality: TripAdvisor, Zomato
  • Accommodation: Booking.com, Airbnb
  • Health: Healthpoint, Healthpages
  • Legal: NZ Law Society directory
  • The Golden Rule

Your business name, address, and phone number (NAP) must be identical across every listing. Not similar — identical. Same format, same abbreviations, same everything.

If it says "123 Main Street" on Google, don't write "123 Main St" on Yellow Pages. Google uses consistency as a trust signal.
