The 5-Minute SEO Check Every Business Should Do
SEO feels complicated. It's not. Here are 5 things you can check right now that'll tell you 80% of what you need to know.
Check 1: Google Yourself
Search your business name. Do you show up? Is the info correct? If you don't appear on the first page for your own name, something is seriously wrong.
Check 2: Check Your Title Tags
Open your website, look at the browser tab. What does it say? If it says "Home" or "Welcome" or your domain name, you're missing out on SEO. It should say something like "Smith's Plumbing | Plumber in Hamilton."

Check 3: Test Your Speed
Go to my Speed Test and enter your URL. If your score is below 50, your site is too slow and Google is penalizing you for it.
Check 4: Check Mobile
Open your site on your phone. If anything looks broken, overlapping, or requires zooming — that's hurting your Google ranking. Google prioritizes mobile-friendly sites.
Check 5: Count Your Pages
If your website is just one page with everything crammed on it, Google doesn't have much to work with. Each service you offer should have its own page with unique content.
