How To Get More Google Reviews (Without Being Annoying)

Google reviews do three things for your business:

  • They build trust — People read reviews before they buy
  • They improve your ranking — Google favours businesses with more reviews
  • They're free marketing — A great review sells better than any ad
  • Why Most Businesses Don't Have Enough

Because they don't ask. It's that simple. Happy customers rarely think to leave a review on their own. But if you ask them at the right moment, most will say yes.

    When To Ask

The best time is right after a positive interaction:

  • After a successful job completion
  • After a compliment (in person or online)
  • After a repeat purchase
  • When a customer says "thank you" or "great work"
  • How To Ask

    In Person

"I'm really glad you're happy with the work. If you have 30 seconds, a Google review would mean a lot to me. I can text you the link."

    By Text/WhatsApp

"Hey [Name], thanks again for choosing us. If you had a good experience, a quick Google review would really help my business: [link]"

    By Email

Keep it short. One sentence, one link. Don't write an essay.

    Get Your Review Link

  • Google your business name
  • Click "Write a review" on your listing
  • Copy that URL — that's your direct review link
  • Save it and use it everywhere
  • How To Respond To Reviews

Positive reviews: Thank them by name. Be specific about what they mentioned.

Negative reviews: Don't get defensive. Acknowledge the issue, apologize, and offer to fix it offline. Other people reading the review will judge you by how you handle it.

    The Goal

Aim for at least 20 Google reviews. After that, every new one is a bonus. The first 10 are the hardest — it gets easier once you have a system.
